MATTE BLVCK - Pure (Street Cleaner Remix)

Matte Blvck quickly became San Diego’s predominant Goth/Industrial acts comprised of former members of By An Ion, Julien K, and The New Division. It’s been a real honor to work with them these past few years, especially sharing the stage with them for their sold out debut live performance. I jumped at the opportunity to remix this track. There was just something special about it that drew me in.

I knew the first thing I wanted to do with this track is build a thicc beefy backbeat for the rest of the track to sit on. The idea was to make the track a dancefloor banger. I left the structure of the track alone, as it was perfect, and processed the vocals in a more haunting way so that the vocals emotively waft over the crushing backbeat. When I did this remix I was knee deep in producing my album “EDGE” so you’ll notice a lot of similarities like choice of drums and the layering of Wavetable and FM synths to get that CARNE!
